what is reflective parenting?

Parenting doesn’t come with a manual - especially when your child is struggling.

Reflective parenting is about helping you pause before reacting; about helping you understand why your child may be acting this way. It’s about noticing your own feelings and when your child’s behaviour is stirring up old wounds or fears. It helps you to respond with curiosity instead of criticism.

This approach helps you:

  • Break cycles of conflict or misunderstanding

  • Strengthen your connection, even during tough phases

  • Model emotional resilience because they learn from how you cope
