how I work

I am a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, registered with the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I adhere to their code of ethics and professional standards.

I have 8+ years of experience working with children and teenagers. Having worked in state, independent, international, and boarding schools, I have experience working with children, young people, and adults from a diverse range of social and cultural backgrounds. I have a specialist interest in working with young adults who have left boarding school.

I moved from the US to the UK as a teenager, so I understand what it’s like to adapt to a new culture. Before training to be a Psychotherapist, I spent three years working in an international school in Rome, where I developed an interest in third culture identities. Sometimes having a sense of belonging in two (or more) different places can mean we feel we belong to neither.

When deciding where to train as a Psychotherapist, I felt it was important to learn how to work flexibly with the needs of each individual. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. As an Integrative Psychotherapist, I tailor my approach to the needs of my clients. In addition to talk therapy, I often work with the creative arts, play, metaphor, and mindfulness as this can help us to access feelings that words alone fail to express.

Outside of my private practice, I work as a psychotherapist in schools. I also provide therapy to individuals working in the Film & TV industry through Solas Mind.

cultural competence & intersectionality

Two hands, one dark-skinned and one light-skinned, clasped together in a gesture of solidarity and unity.

Every individual’s experience is shaped by their unique identity - whether it’s their culture, race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, neurodiversity, or family background. My practice is culturally sensitive and LGBTQ+ affirming and centres and understanding of how systemic factors and intersecting identities impact mental health.

In my practice, this means:

  • Listening openly and without assumption

  • Honouring lived experience as central to the therapeutic process

  • Adapting my approach to meet individual needs, rather than taking a one-size-fits all approach

  • Remaining committed to ongoing learning and cultural humility

My aim is for each person I work with to feel seen, safe, and understood - just as they are.
